Plants of Ireland (plantsofireland.com) is a gardening guide and plant directory for Irish gardens. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the data controller for personal data processed through this website.

This site uses privacy-focused analytics to understand how visitors use the content. We do not use advertising trackers or sell visitor data.

Vercel Web Analytics records anonymous page views and related metadata, such as:

• Pages visited and referring website
• Approximate location (country/region, derived from the connection)
• Browser, operating system, and device type
• Date and time of the visit

Vercel identifies sessions using a hash derived from the incoming request, not a stored cookie. That session identifier is discarded after 24 hours. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify individual visitors.

Vercel Speed Insights samples a subset of page loads to measure Core Web Vitals (performance metrics such as load time). It uses similar technical data and does not set cookies.

When you visit the site, our hosting provider (Vercel) also processes standard server logs needed to deliver pages securely, such as IP address, request URL, and browser user-agent.

Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights do not set cookies on your device. We do not currently use cookie-based advertising or social media trackers on this site.

We rely on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) to run basic, privacy-oriented audience measurement and to monitor site performance. This helps us understand which content is useful and keep the site fast and reliable.

You may object to this processing by contacting us. Because the data is aggregated and not linked to named accounts, we may not be able to identify or delete a specific visit after the fact.

Analytics and hosting are provided by Vercel Inc., which acts as our data processor. Vercel may process data in the United States and other countries. Transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards, including Vercel's Data Processing Addendum and standard contractual clauses where applicable.
